38th Annual SASE Conference

What Is a Mini-Conference?
A mini-conference is a dedicated, multi-session track within the SASE Annual Meeting, organized around a specific scholarly theme.
Unlike SASE’s research networks, which are permanent, mini-conferences change from year to year. Each accepted mini-conference forms a cohesive program of panel sessions and papers, enabling deep engagement with its topic.
Who Should Propose a Mini-Conference?
We invite proposals from scholars interested in curating a multi-session program on a theme relevant to the 2026 conference topic: Fighting Divisions: Conflict and Power in a Post-Globalisation Order
We especially encourage proposals that:
- Align clearly with the 2026 conference theme
- Address underrepresented areas in SASE, including:
- Race and ethnicity
- Migration
- Economic history
- Heterodox economics
- Bring a global or comparative perspective
- Are led by or expected to attract a diverse group of participants
Before applying:
- Review the list of SASE research networks. If your topic overlaps with a network, explain why it is better suited to a mini-conference format.
- Browse past themes via the Past Meetings Archive.
